The Ink Grade Estate Vineyard claims a view unbeknownst to most in the Napa Valley. Amongst densely forested pines and sequoia stands, it lies in the north-east corner of the Howell Mountain AVA with a predominant view facing East.
Ink Grade Vineyard reaches 2,200 ft in steep elevation. Influenced by this dramatic topography, diurnal temperature variation is high, giving grapes exceptional color and flavors, acid structure and aromatic depth.
The terroir is comprised of iron-rich volcanic rock and ash formed in the Miocene era almost 5 million years ago by tuffs and flows.
Our land is a legacy, one that we’re committed to preserving through classically structured single-vineyard wines—at once fresh, robust, and refined.
Preservation is at the heart of everything. Farmed organically and biodynamically since its inception, the ecosystem has thrived here for centuries. Spanning 800 wild acres, the Howell Mountain estate is dotted with vine plantings that nurture and respect the natural habitat.
